RMX™ | Reverse Tanto Folding Knife

Personally, I feel this represents the fusion between simplicity, complexity, function and great materials and workmanship.

I have more than a few expensive knives but this one is my EDC. Razor sharp, incredibly light and fires with a significant kick on auto.

Hopefully the next model like this has a built in bottle opener built into the tail end of the frame.

I purchased the RMX Reverse Tanto a few weeks ago, and have really enjoyed it. The blade is super slicey, and the edge retention has been amazing. It’s been in my pocket since I bought it. I need to switch it out because I have other knives I like, but the utility of it is so good, I just haven’t been able to do it yet. I might have to buy the compact…

NOTE: When switching to automatic, it’s much easier if you watch a video first than relying on the written directions alone (at least for me).

Just received my WSFK01-101 RMX Knife this week. A major design flaw is the 1) The ball bearings are exposed to getting fouled by anything dust/debris that gets to them from the blade side. The bearings are not "sealed" and barely "shielded" from dust from the blade side of the bearings . 2) Converting to the Auto-Pivot permanently removes one thrust ball bearing and replaces it with the anodized aluminum thrust plate/Back Pivot ( The auto pivot cap and spring itself that come with the knife ) . After so many flips the anodizing has chipped and worn away to expose the aluminum thrust face. After more flips open the aluminum has started to abrade and leave an aluminum slurry on that side of the knife blade pivot area. That soft aluminum is no material to have as a thrust/wearing surface. That slurry if not routinely removed will cause accelerated wear and blade looseness. That eventual blade looseness can be corrected by tightening the back pivot screw with the provided wrench tool.

With a "lifetime warrantee" I would guess once that aluminum back pivot wear surface abrades down to it not being functional anymore Work Sharp may make a replacement available.

An upgraded design of Auto-Pivot to address this wear issue would not be hard to achieve.

In my opinion everything else about this knife is outstanding.

I got my knife pretty early, it’s number 01-101. Took a bit to figure out the conversion to auto but not too bad. Blade steel is great, thin and sharp. I use it as an edc and find it in my pocket more than most. Super light and very comfortable. My only real complaint is the fact that the pivot loosens constantly. I just need to get some thread locker on it, haven’t taken the time yet. And if you think it’s been babied, check out the pictures. I use my knives every day and pretty hard. I have no regrets and recommend.
