Edge Guide for the Ken Onion Edition

poor directions (like NONE included) on how to change out the guide. I started to tear into disassembling the unit, then decided it would be much easier to R & R the worn rollers. Quick and easy. After what I expect will be years of use of the unit I imagine Ill end up with a bunch of unused edge guide pivoting "hubs." Seems like kind of a waste. All in all, the KO is an EXCELLENT unit and my experience with Work Sharp has been GREAT!

The edge guide replacement i ordered came in and worked perfectly. Super easy to install. Not sure why other people were having so many issues installing it. You just take off the outer screw that holds the guide on then take off the inner screw which allows you to replace your worn out edge guide with the new one. Im extremely happy with the replacement part as well as my Ken Onion. I've owned mine for a out 6 or 7 years and it's made my life so much easier.

Work Sharp needs to read the reviews concerning the plastic rollers on their Edge Guide. More than several complain that there are no directions provided and even if there were, who wants to disassemble the entire head just to replace the rollers. Selling the entire unit is a waste when they could do their loyal customers a service by just selling them the rollers! Instead they will continue to get negative reviews for good reason for selling an entire part when only the easily replaced rollers are needed. I just purchased three and have already thrown out everything but the plastic rollers. Also found that I can just flip the rollers end for end and they are good for another couple hundred sharpenings!
