The upgrade kit includes a coarse Tri-Brasive® assembly with 220, 320 and 400 grit diamond plates to quickly restore a sharp edge, a fine Tri-Brasive® assembly with 600 and 800 grit diamond plates and a fine ceramic stone to hone to an incredibly keen edge on any knife.The Leather Strop refines and polishes your knife to a scary sharp edge; while the ceramic rod on the back of the strop hones serrations.

Carry case and Tri-Brasive® storage rack keep the abrasives and your sharpener organized and ready for use wherever your adventure takes you.

    You Need This

    I purchased this on Amazon (just for the record). If you want more control and precision to you knife's edge, you need this. The basic Precision kit comes with three grits and will do you fine, but if you have a really bad edge on your old knives (or not sure of the original angle grind of the blade), you will appreciate the 220 grit to start off things. Then you can go through all the grits up to where you want your blade to be. Then about every 4-6 months (say for kitchen knives) you can just do the 400, 600, and 800 grits (and maybe the ceramic) to "retune" your blade (provided you have been taking care of those blades and have been using a sharpening steel/hone frequently. For my filet knives, Glad I got this upgrade!

    Precision Adjust Upgrade Kit

    I use this system all the time...kitchen knives...pocket knives...hunting fixed blades...this upgrade kit allows me to now go through the grit progression faster...producing razor sharp mirror edges. The case is a perfect solution for storing all of the system. All around great product...not to mention from an AMAZING company!!
