This upgrade kit takes an already well-performing sharpener and turns it into a system which rivals the sharpening results of guided systems costing many times more.
When considering cost-to-results ratio, the precision adjust with the upgrade kit is the winner, hands down.
I was turning out acceptably sharp edges with the original precision adjust, but with the upgrade kit, my edges are hair-popping sharp, every time, when the time and effort are taken to re-profile the typical factory edge.
The 220 stone included in the kit makes short work of reprofiling an edge, which sets me up for success with the sequence of additional grits included in the kit.
The tri-brasive rods in this kit seem to be manufactured to a tighter tolerance, than the original issue, which definitely helps in achieving a more consistent result.
Just be sure to use the included strop at an angle 2 degrees lower than your grinding/honing angle, to avoid rounding over the apex.
Work Sharp knocked it outta the park with this upgrade kit..!

Great system for the money sharpens pocket knives excellent. Must pay attention with longer knives or knives with significant curves. The company should also come out with a brace so the arm doesn’t flex I have made my own solution and there are other aftermarket ones but the company should release the product or make an upgraded version. Also only five of the grits are new, three of them are from the original purchase. Some additional grits would’ve been better. Still a very good product for the money.
