Concept is good but QC is lacking.
First my opinion is based off of the review of 1 item. So rake int consideration that i could have received a bad sample that slipped through. I'd love for others to post their true findings if you're using this as a fine instrument or tool that you use on high end, high quality knives.
I was very excited to order and get this stone holder for my WS precision pro. I wanted the option to use different stones on my sharpening system and not just be stuck with the WS stones. I know other companies like Hapstone make a stone holder for about half the price as this WS model but I still chose to go with the WS offering.
Once I got the stone holder in my hand I immediately started testing it's. The fit of different stones was the main problem i ran into. I started with the standard 6x1 stones that came with my WS unit. That way I could get a base of how stones are supposed to fit in this holder. Well that didn't go very well. I quickly noticed that the surface of the holder is not level from front to back or side to side. When you put a stone in the holder and try to sharpen with it, you constantly feel the stone moving or popping up and down on each side. Basically whereever there's pressure, the exact opposite side will lift up in the holder. I tried to use it for a little while to see if I was doing something wrong or if the holder needs to break in or something. That was a bad idea and trying to sharpen a knife like this really caused me issues on a benchmade contego and…
