typically takes under a minute, while restoring a very dull blade may take a few minutes and several passes through the coarse and fine sharpening slots.

Yes, the Pivot Knife Sharpener is safe when used as intended. The fixed angle slots
hold the blade at the correct sharpening angle, while the housing keeps your hands away from the knife’s edge. Using light, controlled pressure further reduces the risk of slipping or damaging the blade.

The pivot mechanism in the Pivot Knife Sharpener allows the abrasive to follow the natural curve of the blade as you sharpen and can be used to remove material faster from very dull blades.

The red switch on the Pivot Knife Sharpener locks or unlocks the pivot mechanism.
In the unlocked position, the abrasives move with the blade to follow its curve. In the locked position, the abrasives remain stationary, which can be preferred for straight-edged knives or certain sharpening styles.

You will get a minimum of 500 sharpenings. Over time,  your blade edge will come to match the angle of the carbide.  When this happens, you will need to apply more pressure for material removal.

Slide your red button outward (unlock) to activate the Pivot Response mechanism. You will
see the carbide is now loose and can rock freely, allowing for maximum material
removal.

Slide the red button inward (lock) to deactivate the Pivot Response. You will now see the
carbide is rigid, not rocking, this allows for low material take-off.
