    A Pleasant Surprise

    On a whim I emailed customer service for some free stuff and they sent me some great literature on sharpening, a couple cool stickers, and this field sharpener! Actually, now that I think about it, I had bought the Ken Onion Precision Sharpener and received no stickers in the box (BUMMER!), which is what prompted my outreach.

    What a great company, and their sharpening products are second to none, along with their excellent customer service. I couldn’t be happier.

    A Nice Little Backup Tool

    This is a nifty little knife maintenance tool you could carry in a pack, or keep in a desk drawer. The bits seem to be of good quality. I was hoping they would be something like WIHA brand. A real draw back is the very weak magnet. The bits just fall out,as if there is no magnet there. The plastic bit holder really works well to hold the bits securely. The sharpening rods are on the coarse side and fine for touch up on small knives.

    For the price, it is a decent little tool for quick knife maintenance.

    Different procedure

    I have the micro on my coffee table. When I hear my wife say done with the knife in the kitchen. She gives me the knives and I hold the knife with my support hand and run the diamond on the micro down the edge. I can feel the vibrations where the edge is damaged. I do both sides until smooth. Then I turn to the ceramic to polish. I'll strop the thin blades. Works great.

    Great and handy sharpener

    This is a handy and convenient sharpener. I carry it in my pocket every day, and when I find myself with some idle time, I may reach for it and sharpen my knife to pass the time.
