Worth Carrying. Worth Building Right.
For over 50 years, Work Sharp has lived in the world of edges. That kind of time teaches you what makes a knife worth carrying, and what makes one fall short. We did not need to build a knife. We built one because we knew we could do it better.
The RMX took nearly a thousand days to get right. Principal Engineer Dan Dovel did not design a single knife. He built a foundation, a modular platform with a swappable pivot that flips from manual to automatic with one screw. Every RMX is bench-built and inspected by hand in Ashland, Oregon, because if it is worth carrying, it is worth building right.
Manual or Automatic. Why not both?
Some swear by automatic knives. Others want the control of a manual. Some states are knife-friendly. Others… not so much.
So we built a system that lets you choose the knife that fits.
Integral Magnesium Handle
Lighter than plastic, stiffer than steel, feels good in the hand, and performs. It's not the obvious choice for a knife handle, but a smart design and the right coating, it carries better than anything in its class.
