A knife with utility, made for real work

The MisFit puts a compact CPM 3V reverse tanto blade on the RMX mid-size magnesium handle. You get a full-hand grip and only as much blade as the work needs. On a spec sheet, that looks like less knife. In your hand, it’s the right amount.

This Reserve Series drop was inspired by customers who were already putting the combination together themselves for the jobs they actually do. It’s an odd configuration with real utility, and a tool that earns its place in the drawer, the tool bag or your pocket.

Product Features

Built for the everyday odd jobs.

Most jobs don’t call for a long blade. They call for control. The MisFit is built for the full run of them, from the work you do every day to the jobs nobody planned for.

That control shows up where it counts: snipping a zip tie pulled tight against a wiring harness, cutting irrigation line an inch from a fitting, or opening a box of parts without cutting into what’s inside. The reverse tanto profile puts a strong, precise tip up front for scoring and scraping.

Still cuts as it starts to dull

The edge is sharpened to 15 degrees per side with a full flat grind, where most pocket knives are sharpened between 17 and 20. A thinner edge slices with less effort, and there's so little steel behind this one that it keeps cutting even after it starts to dull. On cardboard and tubing, which wear an edge down quickly, that means more work between sharpenings.

CPM 3V is what makes an edge this thin practical. It's a tough steel that absorbs impact and resists chipping, and the short blade flexes less than a longer one would. You get a thin, slicing edge on a blade you can put to work without babying it.

Tip control over reach

With the tip close to the work, you always know where your edge is. That's the confidence a compact blade gives you, and it's why the MisFit's edge stays on the job.

The handle does its part. The full-hand grip and the length of the standard RMX handle give you leverage, which counts for more when your hands are greasy halfway through an oil change. Pick it up and it feels like a full-size knife, because only the blade is compact. That blade is sized so the entire edge stays usable, so you use the amount of edge you need and all of it stays where you can control it.
