Built from the ground up for those who live life hands-on and use their knife daily. Every detail, from the single-piece magnesium handle to the swappable pivot mechanism, was engineered for reliable daily carry, easy serviceability, and an in-hand feel that makes it a pleasure to use and easy to be proud of. The M390 steel blade is finished with matte black Cerakote, while hardware is finished with a matching black PVD coating.

    RMX Drop Point Blackout

    I’ve been waiting months for the blackout version to come back. The wait is over. It came factory sharp as a razor. I’ve already converted it to full auto and it has a decent snap. Very pleased.

    Whoa, Black Betty!

    I've been patiently waiting for this 2nd round restock of the "Blackout - Reserve Series."

    The RMX is an awesome design in itself, and the Worksharp team should be proud of the innovative engineering and execution of this knife. Extremely easy and fool-proof to work on with the included tools. The extra "oops kit" is a welcome inclusion.

    The integral magnesium handle is beautifully crafted and makes the overall weight feel like nothing in your pockets. Tight tolerances and flawless machining throughout. I was able to easily dial-in the blade with perfect centering after swapping to the auto pivot cartridge.

    My ONLY complaint is the addition of the "RESERVE SERIES" laser engraved on the presentation side of the blade. Why?! WHY?! I feel it really detracts from the subdued and muted aesthetic that makes (or made) the Blackout so appealing to me in the first place.

    If they had added updated pictures or a note explaining this addition, I doubt I would have ordered one; it's ugly and looks like an afterthought that's completely out of place. I know it's a Reserve Series, I purchased the thing, I don't need a blatant reminder of that fact. I sincerely hope there was at least a couple people on the WorkSharp team that voiced their opinion(s) opposing this change, and I hope the higher-ups will listen to them more closely in the future.

    I know it's purely cosmetic and not a functional problem, but I wish I would have received the sterile Black blade as pictured.

    Underwhelming

    Received it today 11/20/2025 and the shade of black is no where near as dark as the pictures make it out to be. The 2nd issue is the knife is barely sharp enough to shave the fine hair off my forearm with a good amount of pressure. I should not have to sharpen a knife immediately that says extremely sharp in the packaging 🤔. One of the pictures shows how they may have sharpened it to 400 grit.

    Love this knife! Lightweight, smooth action, and sharp. Best folding knife I have owned in year, if not ever. Especially considering the price for such a well designed tool.

    I own three of these knives—two with the drop point blade and one with the sheep’s foot. The price-to-value ratio is one of the best I’ve seen. I love the black-on-black design, and I really hope they release more limited runs like this
