How it began
When the Knafs crew came out to Oregon, we did what any gracious host would do and took them out for breakfast burritos.
Upon first bite, Ben discovered a tragic carb imbalance. Rather than the usual egg-meat-cheese combo, he estimates roughly 95% of the content was potato wrapped in a tortilla.
It didn’t end there. Somehow, every meal that week was slinging spuds like they were set to expire. Potatoes under steaks, potatoes hidden in burritos, potatoes everywhere. By the end of the trip, the joke had grown legs (and eyes).
How it escalated
Fast forward to Blade Show. As a “thank you,” Knafs handed us a sack of spuds. We accepted this brown-bagged wink with grace and humility. Did a lone potato find its way onto their turf during their booth set up? Sure, but just one potato. Nothing serious.
But they couldn’t let it lie. They countered with a barrage. Spuds stashed in our booth, spuds tucked into our bags, spuds following us all the way home.
